SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER
Officer Joe Bowen

My name is Joe Bowen, and I’m honored to serve as the School Resource Officer (SRO) at W.A. Wright Elementary.
I was born and raised in Carthage, Tennessee, and moved to Lebanon at the age of 12. I graduated from Lebanon High School in 2001 and began my law enforcement career with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office in 2004. I spent eight years working in the corrections division before graduating from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in August 2013. Since then, I’ve proudly served in the SRO division, working closely with students, families, and school staff to help create a safe and supportive learning environment.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to serve in various roles, including as an instructor for the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Program and as a member of the Crisis Negotiations Team. Currently, I’m an advisor for the Sheriff’s Office Camp Victory program. Camp Victory is a nationally recognized summer program that empowers 5th–8th grade students with tools to handle bullying, online safety, and conflict resolution while building confidence and leadership skills.
Outside of work, my wife and I stay busy with our three amazing children. We love spending time together, whether it’s enjoying game nights at home, cheering at Nashville SC matches, traveling, or just making everyday memories.
I’m proud to be a part of the W.A. Wright community and look forward to getting to know our students and families. To all of our students:
You are the future! Stay respectful, stay strong, and always believe in your potential.
