SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER

Hello! I'm Jake O’Neal, a proud 2008 graduate of Gordonsville High School. Adventure called me in 2009 when I joined the United States Air Force, diving into the world of Security Forces. Over six thrilling years, I served two tours—one in Iraq (2010) and another in Afghanistan (2013/2014).

I've called several places home, from Tennessee to Texas, North Carolina, South Dakota, and South Carolina. In 2016, I started my law enforcement journey with the Smith County Sheriff's Office, graduating from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in 2017. I spent several years as a Patrol Deputy and SRT team member until 2021, when I joined the Wilson County Sheriff's Office, patrolling the county  on night shift until January 2024.

Since January 2024, I’ve been excitedly serving in the SRO division, ready for new challenges and opportunities to make a difference!

Working at W. A. Wright gives me the chance to positively influence the lives of young people, ensuring their safety and serving as a role model. I’m thrilled to start this new chapter and make a positive impact in the lives of students and the community.
